How important is the core vs cover?
I've seen it's 70% cover, 30% core. Wouldn't the core be more valuable than that?

No! While the core is important,it's the coverstock that detemines the hooking power of the ball, thats why companies spend millions of dollars finding the next new generations of coverstock that make the balls hook.

Wish I could remember where I read it but a study ( by USBC? ) found that the coverstock had more influence on bowling ball motion than the core, or the drilling.
