Default How do you measure where your foot is?

I measure my foot as which board is directly underneath the center of my left foot.

I do the same as well, but I have seen people who take it a step further by using a sharpie to draw a line on the center of the toe of the sliding shoe. Some people will also use a piece of tape on the shoe with a mental reminder like "slow down" or "smooth and easy" written on it.

I Personally Line up the inside of my left foot with the board, after picking up the ball i slide my shoe onto my mark (make sure i didn't step in something sticky) then bring my feet together and prep for approach. in my opinion using the side of your foot is easier and no need for a sharpie

I'm alone in this then? I guess it doesn't matter what reference point on your foot you use as long as you don't change.

I'm with you 75. If I'm "standing on the 23 board", the right edge of my left foot is on the right edge of the 23rd board.

All that really matters is to be consistent with your system whether its the side of the shoe, the toe of the shoe, or a reference line drawn on the shoe. The only problem is communicating with someone using a different reference point.

Like you I use the inside of my shoe at its widest point, i.e. the ball of the foot, except I use my right foot.

    Woot, more people like me!

If you think about it, because. We use the inside edge of our feet, which foot you line up doesn't matter since you put your feet together anyway.
