Just found some gray Mirka Mirlon pads, gonna use those.
Since I've gone from an average of 13mph (on qubica) to 16mph (on qubica) I feel I need my Modern Marvel needs more surface. Right now it's 4000 polished.
Also, is it worth it to just buy the pads and do it myself without a ball spinner?

I would take it to 2000 without polish and see if that helps. I would take it to a pro shop unless you know what your doing. Most shops charge around $3.
BTW-What is Qubica?

He's referring to the scoring system used in a lot of houses, which has the ability to tell you the ball speed down at the pins.
FYI
Also that's not your release (Off Hand) speed, your release speed will be approx. 2-3 mph faster.Qubica speed is only truly accurate when you are throwing a spare ball at the pins. These devices were designed to measure a ball going straight at the pins, not coming into them at an extreme angle. Usually when it's coming at the pins, comes into camera view as it's moving from right to left(For Righties), and due to the trajectory of the ball motion, it appears like it's taking longer to move downlane.
They use a camera to gauge how far your ball has traveled after coming into view, and how long it takes to move to the pins in a lot of cases.
If you want to come very close to your true speed, throw your spare ball right up the middle, the same way you normally throw your strike ball.
Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

Yah that's why I mentioned qubica. That article mentioned the spare ball and when I used one it showed 17mph. So drastic change from 13-14mph
Success.. at least I think. The ball looks definitely more matte than it was new. It looks more like my Vivid which is 2000
I want to get it to start hooking more in the midlane, is this a correct way to go about it? I want to try more of an arc
