Default Narrowed down new ball selection.. I think

Ok, talked to my buddy that owns a local alley and told him I'd like to start bowling again after 20 years off. It would be very recreationally and I might get in a league. I have an old AMF angle 16 lb and I just can't throw it well, ( I'm sure I'd get stronger). I'm looking at a 14 lb ball , either a dv8 misfit, or ebonite cyclone. He said their acceptable in Nearly all lane conditions I'd face. I only am ably to throw the angle about 11mph and am looking to get faster. I'd consider a storm product too. I only want to have 1 ball to cover all lane conditions and for spares. Any pro's, cons or tips ? Thanks

The Misfit has a little more hook potential that then Cyclone and keeps it through medium to medium-heavy oil albeit with targeting adjustments. As long as you're able to flatten out your wrist you can use any ball for spares. Plastic makes it easier but can still be done with any ball. Yes, I can even use my Revenge for spares, before anyone asks.

well both of those balls are good but if you do consider a storm ball maby then the storm frantic is a good ball works on light oil all the way up to heavy oil never threw it my self but my buddy dose but he said for picking spares then you should go with the crossroad its a polish finish and you are able to get the 10pins with it the frantic is a back and forth hitting the 10pin cause depends on the amount of oil sometimes it will just hook a little to much and slice pins.

but i can tell you think the ball i use to use mostly for my spare shots was my hammer black widow only use to throw my spare shots with only my thu,b soo it would not hook but know i can throw my track 716T at the 10pin and get a little hook but i have to wait about 2 feet right of the 10pin.

I've recently come back (earlier in the year) from a 20+ year absence also, apart from once every few years bowling with family. I used to throw a 16lb black rhino but now I use a 15lb Misfit. Love it! It's pretty affordable and gets the job done for me.

Whichever feels more comfortable to you. As a bowler you know you need to control the ball not the other way around. Also too light can throw off timing. Power; six of one a half dozen of another. What the weight lacks it makes up for in speed (or damn close).
In the ball reaction video section I'm using a 14 pound Storm Polar Ice spare ball in those 200+ games. Hits as good as my 15 pound strike balls.

Track 300T,Brunswick karma solid or Pearl, maybe the new Storm !Q Pearl(Dec release) Frantic or Breeze,Roto Grip Shatter. I would suggest 15lbs!

I will go and vote and say DV8 Misfit 15 pounds. But that is just my suggestion...
