    Default Cores

Let's have a discussion about cores, and I saw some interesting things on ballreviews about cores.

Apparently core molds cost around $65,000. Not sure if this is just for machinery or R&D.
    If you watch this video

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...HnvZSnns#t=56s

it would seem odd those containers cost $65,000.

Someone said that when Storm bought a certain company they took their core design and put it in the Vivid/Lucid.

And that it's so expensive for cores (unless they're made in other countries, apparently, as they say Brunswick has a lot of core designs) they re use a lot.

I see a lot of Centripetal cores in Storm's lineup, what does "modified" Centripetal core mean?

On Storm they show both a weight block and light weight block. Does the light weight block make it more lopsided? to adjust the RG?

Looking at Storm's lineup, I see these balls with these cores:

M.A.D. Core with Light Weight Block:Modified M.A.D.™ Core
    -Lucid
    -Vivid

Shape-Lock HD Core with LWB: Modified Shape-Lock™ HD Core (is this being phased out?)
    -Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl
    -Virtual Gravity Nano

    Centripetal Core family:

C³ Centripetal Control Core with LWB: Modified Centripetal Core
    -IQ Tour Pearl
    -IQ Tour

Centripetal Control Core with LWB: Modified Centripetal Core
    -IQ
    -Modern Marvel
    -Marvel Pearl
    -Marvel

I don't see a difference between those though (C^3 and regular)

Inverted Fe³ with LWB: Modified Centripetal Core
    -Fire Road
    -Crossroad
    -Victory Road
    -Hy-Road

were they just turning stuff upside down? :/

-N.O.S. Core with LWB: Modified Centripetal core
    -Fringe
    -Manic
    -Frantic
    -2Fast
    -2Furious

Some of these use the same coverstock as more expensive master line balls. I wonder how much the core changes these balls.

Then their lower end balls all seem to use a big tear drop looking core, Turbine, Camber etc.

The core price i'm sure includes the drafting of the core, getting the materials for core, then making the core and testing to see if it works. The core changes somewhat, but,it's really the coverstock that makes the ball.
