Default Screwed up my 600 series...

    I bowled a 212, 208, then ended with a 138..
All I needed was a 180, and the 3rd game I started out with 2 bad splits, then couldn't hit the strike mark... Kept missing some easy spares as well.
    I think I messed up because I kept thinking if I don't get a strike I won't get my 600 series..
This was in league by the way, oh well...
    Still had fun

Don't ever put numbers in your head. If you can't not think about the number aim higher. If you need a 180 shoot for a 225.

Dave's absolutely correct. It's amazing how we can be our own worst enemy. We end up putting undue pressure on ourselves to perform. Scoreboard watching has never helped a single bowler yet a lot of us do it, even some pros.

If your aiming to do "just enough" yur doomed to fail. If you hot, forget that 180 number, your goal should be make every shot count. Don't worry about the number, don't worry about your last two frames, or that split. Just think about your next ball. If you panic, your done.

Let me add my voice to the chorus here...watching the score board rarely serves us well in the scoring department...

A while back, a wise man told me to ignore that scoreboard. I thought he was nuts, the game is about the score. It took me a while to get what he was saying. One of my worst games ever was a 250. Three of the strikes were brooklyn, two spares I missed my spot, but got a good bounce. The other strikes, none of them were on the same line. Some went way out to the 3 board, some staying inside, barley touching the 10. I have had bad 600 series, and great 540's.

    thanks guys,
I went bowling today as well, and first game was pretty good 191, made up after getting 4 open frames, started striking out and mixing it with spares.
I didn't really focus on score today because I didn't really care, all I really liked about today was that I bowled with my Dad and Mom. It was great seeing my dad bowl once again. I think since I had the chance to bowl with my dad once again, I'm more motivated to do better. I will ignore the score and make every shot count. Thanks guys!
