Thread: Sticky heel

    Default Sticky heel

I did a bit of pratice last night and for some reason i am coming to a complete stop on my final step. The Heel of my shoe just sticks. I was away for a week and my shoes where kept in my bag in my bedroom. I'm sure i did not step in anything. I even wiped them off and still was very sticky. The slide part of the show feels fine. They was not like this the last time i bowled the day before i left.

Any idea what i can do to stop them from sticking or should i just look to getting a different shoe?

Generally speaking the heel of a bowling shoe has a higher coefficient of friction than the sole. Your weight should be on the front part of your foot as you go into your slide.

J is right you were probably shifting your weight toward the heel, this would "put the brakes on".

The above is correct, but if the heel is actually "sticky" and has some sort of residue on it, it should be cleaned.

I have also had issues with my left shoe sticking somewhat when I release my ball. But it feels more like it is at the front part of the sole. I have tried to clean them and all, but I still have issues with them, so I have been using house shoes at the moment. I am actually looking into buying some new shoes instead of dealing with the ones that I have now though. One they are pretty old and i would like to have some that look nicer too, not just some plain shoes. LOL
