Default Question about new ball Abralon finishes?

My new Blue Hammer states that it comes in Abralon finishes of 800, 1000, 2000 and 4000. When you first get the ball what finish of these four does it come in? I ask because I am thinking of giving it a different finish for a little more hook.

A surface of 800, 1000, 2000 and 4000 mean's the ball is first sanded with 800 grit, you then follow that with 1000 followed by 2000 and finish with 4000.

    The basic sanding steps:
    1. 800-grit Abralon – Sand firmly for 30 seconds on all four sides.
    2. 1000-grit Abralon – Sand lightly for 20 seconds on all four sides.
    3. 2000-grit Abralon – Sand lightly for 20 seconds on all four sides.
    4. 4000-grit Abralon – Sand lightly for 20 seconds on all four sides.

These steps can vary some what depending on MFG./person.

Does that mean that my ball has a 4000 finish right now and that I can work back from there?

What that means is your ball came new with a 800/1000/2000/4000 surface. If your wanting to give it a little more bite. You don't have to do all the steps, you can just sand it with the next grit down.

Just don’t get to carried away! I have two balls the size of marbles now, due to the use of my new spinner!! LOL… I now shoot them between my thumb and index fingers!! LOL
