I would experiment with it if I was you, just because you are thinking about it. You should see how much you like, or dislike it before thinking about switching. Because it will be new to you, you will probably not do very well with it. It is tempting to try it out because of all revs you can put on the ball, but I am not that interested at the moment because I have so many things to work on with the one handed style. Also, I can get more tips and feedback on the one handed style.

I did a little two handing last night, and took some video. It looks fine, pretty close to Belmo or Osku. Worked well, threw strikes, made spares (the computer wasn't on so I don't know the scores.) It's just not something I'm interested in doing full time. I also messed around with a traditional one hand delivery with my thumb in. That worked out nice, and I'm more interested in doing that full time than two handing.

I appreciate the feedback gang, keep it coming!

It's something I definitely need to try. Otherwise I'll never get the idea out of my head. I can't wait 'til Friday when I can go give this a real go. The practice rolls I've done here at home feel good, almost natural. It could be that for me this style better suits me than one handed. I'll have to wait until Friday to know for sure. Also lately, every time I put my thumb in this new ball, it just sucks it in like a vacuum and I know it's going to stick, plus it hurts. I think by knuckling it last time I messed something up. With the two handed style, I won't have those worries and I'll be able to throw this ball with more confidence and control.

I'll be taking some video when we go, so I can see myself doing it and compare both styles objectively. My GF used to be on a bowling team in High School so she will be reviewing the video and helping coach me as well.

You can try it, it is fun, I have but I definitely can't do it. But, there are health concerns, Belmo has a lot of back and knee problems because of it. There are different mechanics involved and some of them out a ton of strain on your body.

However, trying it won't hurt anything. And if you like it, then do it. If you have been bowling for a while the standard way, I wonder if you would be able to perform better two handed than what you are now.

Curious for feedback from other folks who have made the same change and how it worked out for you.

    Thanks all!
I haven't tried it myself. I just thought I'd warn you that we already have a lefty who throws two-handed in our sport league so at best you'll only tie for most hated.

    Hahaha! Lefties unite!

That's one of the things I'm concerned about though in all honesty. I want to start doing tournaments but I don't want someone to go crying to the director or whatever that I'm cheating because I'm using two hands. Even if it's baseless, it's drama I don't really need or want. Some people can be downright childish, especially when there's money involved.

Good luck with the two handed. For me the mechanics were hard to get correct, but when you did, and when you threw a good ball, the exsplosion is insane. If a lefty two hander has this amazing "unfair" advantage, then Cassidy Shaub should win every PBA event, and yet he has never made TV. He is one of 4 two handers who has been on the tour at some point in the last few years, and he is left handed.

I have played around with a 2 handed delivery before. My biggest problem with it for myself is i get very inconsitent with my speed, which causes the ball to react differently.

i messed around with 2 hands today, it was funny, i was putting so many revs on the ball i had to stand out where board 45 wound be and loft it over the gutter LOL i got 1 strike doing it, but was extremely inconsistant. i think ill stick with 1 hand

When I first tried it, I was all over the place. Once I figured out the whole two handed is half a myth, and you only use one hand to throw it at the end, I got it down. My problem is I tend to get the ball too far away from my body doing it, so it's almost like I'm side arming it. I did snap off 15 strikes in a row with it, in practice, with no scoreboard, and two of those were Brooklyn. It's very tempting to convert, it's like being Luke Skywalker being tempted to come over to the Dark Side of The Force. If I were younger (teens or early 20's) I probably would give it a go. In my ealry 30's, I don't see it in my future, despite not only throwing a lot of stikes, but making most of my spares as well. I may still play with it on the side, just to get the looks from people in the center.
