I remember when my ball got it's first battle scar,
I was sad for a bit, but then I just accepted it.
I had a ball damaged within the first 5 frames of throwing it. I don't use the pro shop at my lanes, but one a few towns over. I took it to my guy. He asked where it happened, and I told him at another house. He fixed it free anyway, cause he takes care of me. He said the only reason he asked is because it had happened a few times that week at his center. He was just concerned that something was wrong with the lanes. It wasn't on the balls track, so it didn't really need to be fixed, he filled the scrath anyway.

If it's deep then they should fill it in and resurface it. I think some places have contracts with the pro shop. But really they put signs out saying they won't be held responsible but that is ridiculous. It's their machines they should be responsible since you are a paying customer.
