I made the mistake of attempting to bowl a game on light oil with my IQ. In leage i stand between 18-22 and target between 8-12, and am doing fairly well ave is at 200. Went to the alley with the fam for some fun and went and looked at the lane and saw very little oil. in the tenth i was standing at 35 and targeting 17 and could not keep the ball to the right of the head pin. I am a med rev guy with fairly low axis tilt and rotation. There is one positive thing from this game of practice though. I realized i need a light oil ball. Now to convince the wife to let me get one.![]()

I usually tell my chick, fine I wont buy a ball, I'll get frustrated and quit, and sit home miserable yelling at everything. Backfires sometimes, cause the responce can be, please quit, and stop spending the money. Of course then I tell her that she needs to quit her hobbies too.
Sinister is the only way to live.
If he theoretically could keep it right of the headpin, would it have struck?
When do heavy oil balls burn too much energy vs curve too much to the left?
i would have struck. The couple of times i did hit the pocket I carried.

I have an IQ, it was my 2nd ball, and I got a fire road afterward. IQ is a heavy oil ball, it sucks on all other conditions I find. One other use for the ball, is cutting through carry down. But that is still really hard to do right.
What do you see it doing when it sucks on the other conditions?
I have heard a lot of great things about the IQ Tour but the color is bad.
My layout has an early turn. So my ball is really geared up for oil conditions. Basically, the ball will enter it's hooking phase to early on dry lanes for starters, so it will hit the pins with less power. Another thing is if the lane has much lane transition, the ball will grip the used lines better, which makes the ball harder to repeat shots because the random effects of lane transition are exadurated. If I play on a dry lane with the ball, I am ether forced to throw the ball strait or move way deep on the left side. If I elect to throw the ball strait, I just switch to a strait ball. If I move way deep, there is a chance the ball will find a good spot to hit, but you increase the chances for you ball to cross other lines and make the ball behave chaotically, I forget if that's a behavior of solid balls. On a side note, there have been many people who have tried out my balls for kicks. My fire road has the best feedback. Only thing I can say about my IQ is that there have been times where I absolutely needed a heavy oil ball, and have been happy to have the IQ. In my opinion it really is only for oily conditions, or when you want to play far left. Oh, I forgot to mention the fire road is a medium oil ball, it performs okay on heavy, or light conditions. But better than both on medium conditions. If you need a light oil ball, that's what you need. I would also like to mention that my light oil ball works the best when the lane messed up beyond my ability to read it.
