just bought another dv8 ball

i have been asking advice around here on what my next ball purchase should be. i bought the misfit last month and i love that thing and was looking for a ball to compliment it. after hearing all of your advice i was pretty set on the marauder but after struggling to get my ball to turn on my friday night league i made a last minute decision to go with the hellraiser revenge. i threw it for the first time last night during league and am quite happy i made this decision. my first game with it was a 187. the next game i only threw a 130. i attribute this to the fact i was drinking beer and realized i had not eaten anything at all that day. i stopped with the beer and went to water and threw a 205 (only my second 200+ of the year). i love the way this ball reacts. a marauder or marauder madness is in my near future but for now, i am very pleased with this new ball.

I'm seriously considering either a HRR or HRT for tournaments, but I'm going to see what my Marauder does next month before solidifying that decision. There's also Christmas to consider plus if I buy a new ball for myself before I get the GF her new ball, I'll be in the doghouse, literally.

me too. the wife has been wanting a new ball but every weekend i have off, she has something else planned.

I am thinking of by a HRR for my first true "thumb in" ball. Either that or a Marauder. My local house the oil is usually light, so I'm thinking Marauder, then maybe the HHR later for tourneys. As far as the drinking too much, scrwing up your game, yeah I've been there. When I cut down on my beer consumption, my average went way up.

I'm picking up my Marauder Saturday. That will give me access to the Misfit, Marauder, Too Reckless, Reckless, Terror and two Revenges. Oh and I almost forgot, the original Hell Raiser. By the time I get the other three in the line up they will have released more lol

my brother went to the pro shop with me and picked up the nightmare. he is on my team on both of my leagues. last night during practice he threw nothing but strikes. then when it was go time he couldnt really put it together. he started setting his ball down too soon and hitting brooklyn side. once i pointed it out to him he made the adjustment but also moved about 4-5 boards left. after that he was hitting dead on the 3 pin. he was relaxed during practice and hammering the pocket like it was impossible to miss but i think he just syched himself out.

Sometimes adrenaline can do that. You get so excited about crushing the pocket that you can't wait for the games to start. Then you mess yourself all up.

what really sucked was we were tied for 1st on tuesday nights and we just lost 3 out of 4. good news is that the team we were tied with also lost 3. its just a fun league but i would still love to win it.

We were down by four and playing the first place team. We took 6 of 8. Their anchor bowler pointed out something I was doing wrong and it was lights out for games two and three. Hopefully this week goes just as well.
It was my dad's team we played and he made the mistake of helping me (as he would anyone). Like he said, we are tied and there's alot of bowling left in the season. Dad and Derrick really want to win this year after getting second last season. Three new teams joined this year that are pretty stacked so it will be hard for them. My friend subs for my team at times and he averages 248. Kind of my ace in the hole when I need it
