Have been playing with the thought.. but never tried. I think i'd loose my ryhtem on the approache and backswing when listening to music. I'll give it a try, see what happens

The reason I asked, I've really never seen too many people doing it..I have done it in one of my leagues, where I knew, like two people in the bowling alley..but since I'm in three now, in a different bowling alley, in a different state, things are different. I usually play cards while bowling, so I'm forced to be social, not that it's a bad thing.

I bowl while listening to my ipod, it helps me with my concentration focus and it also helps me with my timing, and I really don't care about the socializing thing. If I want to talk I talk after or before the league. Over the years I have found when I am bowling well the opposite team will try to strike up a conversation to take me out of my game this usually occurs when I am at the approach. LOL. It doesn't take much for me to loose my focus so with the headphones on it lets them know I am not talking.

We had to pick up a new guy this year and little did we know, he bowls with headphones on. Most of the time if you're talking with him, you have no idea if he even hears you. I would think it would be distracting to have music on while trying to concentrate on what you're supposed to do. Personally, I don't like bowling with anyone that does it. Bowling is a social time as much as anything, and if you want to just listen to music, just go and practice.

Rather than an iPod I just fill the music thing up and let everyone hear what I will be singing. I prefer no music at all but that's not my call so I just go with the flow.

I to would rather silence (other than the bowling sounds ) Saturday morning i had just shot a turkey and was in the zone, i got up and a split second before my release the speakers were blasted above my head because the other league (stupid 5 pin) was doing announcements... it scared me and i yanked the ball.....just enough to get a Brooklyn! I never saw anybody do this until I started bowling in league again this year. He is averaging 220 so whatever floats his boat.

Definitely not. Who would want to bowl with wires hanging out all over the place? How do the PBA guys do it?

Wires are run inside their shirts, the only place its loose is from the collar to the ear, and that part is coiled so it can't flop around.
