Thread: polishing the Alpha-Max

    Default polishing the Alpha-Max

well I bowled ok last night, my form was solid and hit the mark all night, my trouble was keeping inside the pocket due to (very) dry lanes. I love the DV8 Misfit for my local house but somehow I struggle with it elsewhere. Im really not interested in dropping another $100+ on a ball and then thought, I have the Brunswick Alpha-Max I'm planning on having maybe 4000 grit finish then high polish finish.....your thoughts?
    Thanks.

You can try that or you can look into getting a Slingshot!

What's the struggle? Missing ball side or crossing over?

Zothen, I thought about that but dont want to sacrifice the punch.

billf, cross overs, even then sometimes I strike it too, just looking to keep it inside.

Have you tried moving your feet in the direction of the miss? I would try polishing the Alpha-Max but wouldn't want you to lose a stronger ball and then need it for heavier oil patterns.

Im going to have to try that, there arnt any heavy oil pattern lanes round these parts and I know the Max will just sit if I dont try it.

Even polished the Alpha-Max will be substantially stonger and more hook than the Misfit. Both the core and the cover are a great deal stronger even if polished You would be much better served to pick up a Slingshot or a Karma Urethane. The Alpha-Max polished would be a nice step UP from your Misfit when the Misfit is not enough
Still love the game but had to quit because of my left leg amptation

yes but at the risk of dropping another $100 plus on a ball when the Alpha will only be about 15 to do.

Maybe sell or trade the Alpha-Max for a Slingshot?
