Me! As a team we noticed that we do better when goofing around. Being a wise guy has always come natural to me so I give them all a hard time. You're right though Mike, life is too short so don't take it too seriously. Maybe he isn't trying to be a jerk but rather lighten the mood and it's coming across the wrong way.
Either way, sometimes just writing it out makes one feel better.

hahahaha. I saw the thread name and thought, "Well... I have a TEAM of those types of guys, with myself included..."

I dunno... I know this is a bowling forum and that it's designed to help bowlers get better, but my #1 objective in bowling has always been to HAVE FUN!!! I want to be good, I'm the best bowler on my team by at least 10 pins, and I enjoy that, but... It just doesn't matter to me if at any point the game stops being fun.

So, our team name is Bowl Job. We have previously been Bowl Me, Bowl Movement, Off in a Corner (no one wanted to brag about beating our team.. "HEY EVERYBODY!!! We just beat Off in a Corne- Oh ****..." We have a TRULY bad bowler (about a 120 average, but that doesn't tell the story if you'd ever see him bowl...) who we LOVE to "Beer Frame," any chance we get. We call him Captain Smith of the SS Titanic because he is steering this ship right into an iceberg... My approach is slow and deliberate, so they call me Elmer Fudd...

We NEVER get more than two strikes into a game before some jerk will notify you, "Wow, you're really bowling well! You have a perfect game going!"

But most importantly: NO ONE CARES!!! hahahahaha. We have a lot of fun, we are very relaxed, we enjoy interacting with other teams, AND despite ourselves we are in first place by about 2 games. If anyone cared, then I'm sure there would be a fight, but I think the important thing is we all know eachother well enough, and we understand everyone's humor, and we always accomplish our goal which is simply to have fun!

My philosophy has always been if it isn't fun why do it? If you are supporting yourself by bowling then it's different, it's a job and most jobs aren't much fun. But I'm out for a good time.

I was able to find an exclusive video on how to deal with Wise Guys. I hope this helps everyone:
