As long as you don't use it in league/tourney play it will be fine.

    Conclusion

The numbers simply prove that in coordination with the drilling layout, placement of the balance hole is rather simple and generates a significant amount of impact on the final product. Armed with this new information, matching bowlers to equipment to lane conditions becomes much easier! The bottom line -- it makes sense!

I already thought of that,,,, its unmarked,,, and just to make it impossible, I dug about 30 holes in my back yard 8 feet deep! Being a DV8, I stuck with the number 8! So you would have a Hell of a time finding it, and might even be dangerous, since the soil could cave in on you! Two of the holes are bubby trapped! 3 have false tops with sharp bamboo embedded in the bottom!
I also have flood lights that are motion/heat activated! Soooooo if you want,,,, if you feel lucky,,,, give it a stab! Its there to stay,,, in all its Madness!! A ball without a hole in p-2 position!

Mike, I'm surprised they even let you have the ball with the weight being illegal. Just get it done and don't worry about it. P2 will have zero affect on reaction.

Default A person should have a ball long enough to check it out before drilling the balance

How do you know where you want the balance hole, unless you bowl a little with it? I wanted to check it out at the two different AMF's where I bowl. I now know after tonight, that I do not want it any more aggresive!

Its perfect at AMF in North Kansas City, but the lanes at AMF vivion, are completely different with less oil, and a different oil machine. So I would not want the P-3, or P-4 hole. Might even want the P-1! The marauder madness has a LOT MORE DIVE in the end then my Red original Marauder! They are drilled almost the same, so it’s the cover stock. I think its good to bowl the various places you bowl, before you have the balance hole drilled. Other wise How IN the HECK do YOU even know where the hole should be placed. From what I read it can be negative at p-1,,,, the same no change at P-2, p-3 20 percent more aggressive, and p-4 up to 40 percent! So knowing how the ball reacts, is crucial in knowing where you want that balance hole, it can help make the good ball a perfect ball if you take the time to check it out! I will get it done tomorrow, since I now know where I want it drilled!

Mike has a valid point here, trying the ball out first to determine the best place to put the hole.

Now if the shop is high tech and has the Blueprint program they can simulate the ball reaction on the computer, on different patterns and hole placements and it's pretty accurate showing what the ball will do.

    Default Thanks bowling 1837....

Thanks bowling 1865,,,,, I bet 99 percent of the pro shops don't have that equipment! After just one week of trying it out, I am now ready to have it drilled! It might be the P-1,,,,, I swear it had waaaaaaay to much hook tonight at league! But,,,,, but it works great on my Monday league that is not sanctioned! So I will have a discusion with the driller and let you all know how it turns out! Its pur Madness how this ball hooks the last 3 feet or so!!

Just remember, The point of having more than one ball is to match up with different lane conditions, not to get your weight bearing exercise lugging four balls, which all react the same, from the house to the car to the alley and back. The P-1 position should only be used if you can't control the down lane reaction.
