well it depends on how you want the ball to work and plus if you want us too help you out abit info like what your speed is and rev rate and other info and maby a picture of another ball that you got and how it works.
I printed out the DV8 drilling layout information to take to the pro shop on Saturday with me.
Assuming that the guy doing the drilling doesn't know, how do I know which layout to use?

My style I guess would be a Tweener to Stroker. Medium rev's I suppose.
I throw my Hammer Blue (Urethane) outside the 2nd arrow, makes it's turn closer to the pins.
Tomorrow I'll see if I can post a pic of the way it's drilled currently.

He already has their layouts, he is questioning which one to use I believe. And as the others said, it depends on what you are looking for in the reaction. Are you looking for it to go longer and break later or roll sooner? Looking for something to use in heavier oil or lighter conditions? There are a lot of factors to consider.
I am going to buy a new ball soon(probably be the same ball you just bought) and I have been pondering the same thing you are. My plan is to have my driller watch me throw and go from there.
well i can say this if you want a agressive and early roll ball then i can post a picture of my Hell Rasier Revenge i got the layout for it out of the brunswick layouts the one that is maximum hook/arc and it works great at most bowling allies where i have to stand far left and at the bowling allie i play at i have to stand far right because more oil on the lanes and much different.

See if you can get the driller to watch you bowl. More than likely he will be able to match your game to a layout. Telling them to just drill it a certain way can make it an unpleasant experience as it may not do what you want. If you can't have them watch you, the best would be to tell him exactly how you bowl. Like what line you bowl, ball speed and what you want to accomplish.
I'm going to talk to the pro shop guy and see if he will watch me throw my Hammer before we drill my DV8. I'm just trying to get an understanding of what each layout is for and which I can expect to end up using.![]()
I've asked a few of those in-the-know that I know and the house where I will end up league bowling can be varied as far as oil. One week it could be heavy, the next could be light. They said you usually won't find out until you start throwing a few practice shots.
The way I see my DV8 shot in my mind is with a late breaking hard backend? Does that make sense?
