First game all my strikes were real strikes, unfortunately I kept yanking the ball left on my spares. The second game, probably two thirds of my strikes were really nine counts. Left the 3 - 10 in the tenth. I didn't realize untill after the ball left my hand that I had thrown my strike ball instead of my White Dot. Even with the flat release it hooked just enough to drive the 3 pin straight back instead of deflecting off into the 10 pin.

See...THAT is the frustration. I now know I'm "capable" of bowling in the 170s-220s...but it takes me 2 games of throwing the ball like an idiot just to find my "mark".
But in my defense...the lights were off for cosmic bowling nonsense so I struggle a bit due to poor eyesight when the lights are out.

Welcome league (Used to be called the church league, but changed the name due to the fact that most of the teams were no longer representing churches.)

We may have lucked out since their lead bowler has been working 12 hr. days for the last week and their anchor is still recovering from dumping his motorcycle on I95.

Fairly disappointing start to the company league......181, 156, 214. We lost the first game 635 to 633but won the evening 3-1.
I don't understand...if thats a usual night for you...why aren't you stepping up to tournaments??? You could roll in nice little local touneys every weekend...probably make $40,000/year just in bowling profits. Bowling in some senior handicap league when you're capable of dominating scratch just seems like a waste of time.

There's a big difference between averaging 230+ for three games on a Typical House shot and doing it every week under tournament conditions.
To net $40K bowling in local tournaments, Jay would have to win practically every tournament that he entered.
There are people who bowl for the fun of competition, not the money.
Since Jay is a pastor and most local tournaments are on weekends, there might be some conflict with his vocation.
