We lost 5 so that was the most disappointing part being 2 points out of first place but can never really just get there. I got the Melee I won drilled on Friday and absolutely love how it rolls down the lane - super predictable in how it rolls and super deceiving in appearance - until it hits the pocket. On the times I hit my mark once I locked in on where I needed to be it destroyed the pins when it hit the pocket. With the solid color it almost looks like a house ball being thrown down the lane just going straight and then back end it sweeps right in there - not the violent whiplash backend that the first blood has (which I also love especially for oily lanes) but more smooth but still with authority. I was throwing it around 16mph and it had plenty of reaction. First game I kind of second guessed, then third, then fourth guessed. My team mate was like WTH is this league a trial for new balls for you? So I didn't want to bowl a bad game with the Melee since I had never thrown it so I went back and forth with the Ebonite just to appease him - I shouldn't have done that. The Ebonite seems like it is completely dead now. It struggles to break into the pocket and it doesn't hit hard like it used to. It's probably time to retire it after this season. I really feel like I need a 299 or higher with one of the other balls before I retire the ball that I threw a 298 with. But most of my inconsistency was me on Saturday. I know this Melee is going to be a great ball for this Saturday league and for when the lanes break down on Tuesdays. 1st and 2nd game I was 4 for 4 on 7 pins and 3rd game I was 0 for 2 so that hurt. I had about 5 solid pocket hits that ended up in 7 or 10 pin leaves. Frustrating.

Cooled off a bit tonight. 658=235,209,214 Ball still hooks a bunch, but I wasn't doing a good jub keeping my speed up, and left a few more splits. Screwed up the second game, coming into the 10th on the nailed my mrk but threw it too soft, came up leaving the greek church, ugh. Last game felt that my backswing wasn't up to what I've been doing, and made left some single pins and couldn't get my strikes to string together. Still, 3 weeks in with the chosen path pearl averaging over 225.

Amazingly bad first game - started out with 4 opens and missed 4 total 7 pins. Picked up some weird splits. Second game started getting better but made a very effective ball change from the First Blood to the Melee in the 8th frame but then opened in the 10th frame which definitely changed the final score of the game. 3rd game shot only the Melee and it rolled really good. I could have had 220-235 score but I missed a spare in the 7th. Picked up a couple of weird splits in this game - my team starting calling me domino fats at this point. Felt really really good shooting the Melee almost right out of the box (except 2 games I shot with it on Saturday). I am still working on figuring out the First Blood.

227 - 236 - 197 = 660 After a long vacation in Las Vegas and a return through the airport in Atlanta. Including a total lane breakdown and a move to the pair to the left, at the start of game 3. I consider this to be a very good series !

225, 183, 201. Only won 1 game, but kudos to the other team for bowling over their averages.

About the only good thing tonight was that I found out the sheet was wrong last week, which I thought it was as my 235 was actually a 253.

204, 189, 227 = 620 Series. With a 213 average going into the night, that puts me at a nice tidy 19 pins under average, blech. First game, 7-10 split, second game 4-6-7-10, Third game missed a single 10 pin. Just one of those nights where the 10 pin owned me. Moved back, moved right, moved right and back. Second game I switched balls, but struggled hitting my mark on the right lane. Last game I started with the first ball on the right, and other ball on the left, but the ball on the left started going high. Started off strong the last game, but 10 pin game back. I was doing some goofy things tonight, trying too hard. Oh well, there is always next week and I can't be too disappointed with a 620. Really 3 opens all night, just couldn't string strikes.

Felt really good last night. Not super high scores but consistency picking up spares and hitting the pocket well. Picked up 6 out of 7 on the 7 pin so that made a big difference. I think I made the ball change at the right time from First Blood to Melee. I shot the whole first game with the First Blood so I was happy to get a good game out of it - save for a 220 I shot when I first got it I was shooting around 170 with it. 5th frame of the 2nd game I felt like the ball was too erratic so I switched - of course first shot with the Melee I yanked it for a lucky 9 count but after that I settled in and the ball was super smooth. I am liking this 2 ball system. Only issue I had last night was last game 10th frame I threw a beautiful pocket shot and got tapped. I was mad. Ball came back. Waited to grab it for other people bowling. Waited. Waited. Waited. Got the ball. Waited. Waited. It was the 5 pin but shifted half way to where the 4 sits so I debated in my head - shoot straight and hard right at it or cross lane from the right and hook into it. Went back and forth. Still waiting. Waiting. These guys were sooooooooooooooooo slow - now I was really mad. Shot the ball right in the gutter. Total melt down. MF'd for a minute. Punched an inanimate object. It was a close game and I really wanted to close out a good night with triple X and I was on a 3 bagger at the time too. Just totally lost it. I was still mad was I was driving home. Overall though felt really good about the night and the way the 2 balls were rolling.

Received an 11 in a row award tonight. This was from a game rolled in December. The award is much better than expected. Can be seen on the USBC site.
