LT-48 Vintage - 235, 248, 247 = 730. I slowed everything down and it worked. I also picked up all of my spares and didn't leave any splits.

Odd night. Really loved the line (standing on the 29, throwing across the 17), but missed my mark the first game 3 times, all lead to spares. Second game had a couple tough brakes, and the lane started breaking down, I was hitting light, but it carried some but I made a couple mistakes. 3rd game switched balls, but after bowling cross lane, standing on the 29 throwing across the 11 I just kept pulling it inside. When I hit the mark, big booming strikes.

Started with the First Blood. Locked in first game and was in the zone. Threw a 5 bagger after a spare in the 2nd frame. 8th frame solid pocket hit left the 4 pin. On the spare the ring of tendons in my wrist snapped and I dropped the ball missing the spare. Painful in more than 1 way. Never really recovered after that and a potential 250 game turned into 215. But all in all I was happy with it as a good start. Second game was tap after tap and I struggled to put together any consecutive strikes. Did start out the game picking up the 6-7-10 in the 1st frame so that was encouraging. I switched to the Melee in the 7th frame and immediately threw a solid strike. The First Blood was rolling so good I wasn't even going to make a ball change but by the 7th frame I needed to do something or I was looking at a 150 game. Unfortunately 8 & 9 frame I yanked it and had horrible shots - my fault. 10th frame 1st ball perfect pocket shot. 2nd ball let way off the speed - 14.99 and it was disastrous. Third game opened with a 7 pin that I picked up, 6 bagger and closed out for a 239. Felt really good to throw 2 good games with the 2 different balls. Really feel like they are both working well and work well together. 3rd game I picked up my speed from 15.62 to 16-16.25 and it was working quite well - I was locked in again. In the second game I threw about 5 balls in a row (except the last one) at 15.62 exactly and at the time it was a decent speed but with 2 other lefties bowling that line / speed quickly diminished and called for a higher ball speed. 3rd game after the 6 bagger I picked up a 7 pin. So now I am on a spare and after getting tapped the previous frame I decided to go outside a little bit - well so much for that - I went so slow and so far outside I threw the ball into the gutter, on a spare!, doh! Mental meltdown on that shot. Regrouped and picked up a spare to salvage the damage.

Thursday night. Practice time was used to choose a poor line. Game 1---163. Making changes along the way to shoot a 210. Slightly over adjusted at the start of game 2 but was locked in by the finish. Game 3. Front 10 strikes----8 pin and spare 289. Series 662 happy for that ! 4 opens, 3 chops and missed a 10 pin.

I was pretty happy with that series. The lanes were absolutely horrible. I had to keep the ball in the 18mph range to even come close to getting a strike. First game after horrible practice I was trying 3rd arrow shot for a few frames, couldn't get it to work and finally around 6th or 7th frame found a mark and finally got to work - too little too late for that game although if I hadn't yanked the first shot in the 10th I could have went out with 200+. But every game had 3 baggers strung in between spares and opens. I was close. This was my follow up series to my 494 series 2 weeks ago so I was happy to get back on the right track.

And **BONUS** I put in an entry for a free tournament (costs you $2 to get in and you submit your scores to gain entry) on March 22 and the owner of the alley came up to me last night and said I qualified for the tournament so I am in. I think I shot like a 610 that night so it was good enough for me to get in. So now March 22 I am bowling the tournament and my usual Saturday night. If I do well in the tournament I will also bowl Sunday. So it could be a crazy weekend of bowling 10+ games.

Tonight was fun. Started off a full dot left of my normal starting position, ball just wasn't coming up. Fought it most of the first game trying to drill the pocket, but finally decided to switch ball in the 10th frame, and struck out. Next game started off hot, but then fell into the land of spares, but again in the 10th I decided to slow down and left a SOLID 8 and struck. Third game was just on, 6 bangers, 4 pin, and then some misc spares and strikes for a clean game.

EPIC NIGHT. So first game went with the usual First Blood. After a tap in the first frame 9/ I threw the next 5 strikes. Had a great game going and then got tapped missed the 7 pin and I can't remember how I ended the game but was happy with the 215 just felt it could have been 235 or higher. Second game opened first frame 6 3, then tapped again, picked up the 7 pin, 3rd frame switched to the Melee and threw the next 7 strikes. 10th frame got a little too amped up and threw it way too fast so light pocket hit for an 8 / X to end the game. Felt really good about the 247. 3rd game started with an ugly strike then 9 / 9 /. Then they called lucky strike that was at $900 and one of our team tickets was called so being on a hot streak the team nominated me to throw the 2 strikes needed to win the $900. You have to go down on the women's league lanes. So I took the Melee down there. Got up to bowl and was just trying to focus on the shot - just 2 strikes - but I was mighty nervous. I didn't want to let the team down. YANKED the first shot but hit brooklyn and CRUSHED the pins. 1 down. Ball came back I didn't give myself time to think or second guess. I immediately lined up and focused on my mark and my release - PEGGED it. I knew when I released it that it was a good ball but the 6 pin is still.......fell. So $900 in our pockets = $140 per person divided up amongst the 6 of us - 5 on our team and our mascot who just shows up to drink and $10 in the drink kitty. Of course after that my game was completely wrecked. I threw 3 more with the Melee and then switched back to the First Blood so I could throw it hard. Worked for a couple of frames. 10th frame I threw it 16.94mph, which by 3rd game usually isn't an issue, and it just skidded down the lane and went straight through leaving a split. Didn't pick up the split and didn't get my 3rd 200 game of the night. But we took all 7 points for the first time in a long time and I was very happy with a 646. Progress in the right direction.
