I am fortunate living in Florida and avoiding real winter weather. This alone adds to my average. Props to the cold weather bowlers !
Nice series Blacksox. Really the only time the cold weather plays a factor for me is when it snows a lot or is slushy out the idiot people trample all over the floor in wet shoes / boots. Then I have to wear shoe protectors the entire night which is a pain to take them off, put them on, etc. And even worse if you get water on your slide shoe - that can ruin your whole night.

I was bowling on wood lanes so I was just throwing the new ball to see how it would react there. It was a bit too much. I dialed in end of the 2nd game to throw a 5 bagger but 3rd game I was making way too many adjustments so I salvaged a horrible game by putting the new ball away and pulling out my old one in the 4th frame.
Sunday I did something out of character - I went to practice with the new ball on my synthetic Tuesday lanes. 191 & 197. Not bad. Really like how the ball reacts there with those lanes. It really hits the pocket hard. Going to have a lot of fun throwing this ball.
300 for me, 783 series... not qualify for a ring though... Some rule about pre or post bowling for league.

Shot a 279 last night... Yeah..... non-sanctioned league no no recognition really..... and on the night of league establishing average.... BOO!

Our team shot really bad - first time this year we lost 7 points. I guess going 17 weeks into the season and not losing 7 is not too shabby. The other team (160 averages) all bowled out of their minds throwing 600+ series. We didn't have a chance on our best night. I practiced the other day on the same lanes but then quickly (in practice) figured out why practice is a waste of my time - totally different shot. So I moved all around the whole night and really never zoned in. But I am happy to say the new ball is a 7 pin magnet and I am 6 for 6 on the 7 pin. Still really breaking the ball in after 8 games and learning the difference between my 6 year old ball and this new technology. I see massive potential with this new ball.
Sorry far loving the Chosen Path , last week a 660+, tonight a 720. The lans were a less oily this week, so lineup was 5 boards over from the week before. 2 opens all night, threw those 2 shots badly and left big old splits. Other spares for the night was a 9 (lucky to just get that), a couple 10's and a 7. Had another ball slip off my fingers and didn't come up, leaving the 2,4,5,8. Line up was the 29.5 on the left lane, and 28 on the right, throwing across the 17.

Nice series Frog. Since I switched to a thumb slug my release is so much cleaning. My old ball I was use a massive amount of powder and rosin but never really could get the right mix. Now the new ball with a new layout, remeasured for my hand now, and the thumb slug I don't even need powder. It is awesome.
Thanks! I never use powder or rosin, back in the day I used to rip my thumb up pretty bad and went through a bunch of new-skin. My higher series sort of died out when I had to start wearing a real wrist brace, so I'm just happy to be getting back up in the 700's again more consistently. I've been able to hold a similar average as before, but the high end has been lower. Right now the new balls are drilled perfectly for me, used to have sore fingers after a night of bowling, but the last couple weeks they have been fine. Just a really off night. Couldn't get any carry. Couldn't hit my marks. Adjusted, adjusted, adjusted. Strung 3 together in the first game but that was my best of the night. We lost 7 for the second week in a row. Like the Detroit Lions say - there is always next week.
