Default Would This make a Differance on Dry to medium lanes?????

Hummmm,,, I am finding that all my balls are way to aggressive for medium or even medium light oil!! 5 fricken balls, and when the oil breaks down I have nothing! I wind up moving all the way from between 5 and 10 board to 30 and even then I don’t like the way the ball reacts going into the pocket.

I wounder what would happen if I took on of my balls, SAY the Undefeated had it pluged, and then re drilled in a much weaker position. Do you think that might solve the need for a much less aggressive ball without purchasing a new one! We are talking 30 bucks, vs over a hundred!

I notice this seems to happen a lot when I bowl on teams with 5 bowlers, making it 10 on the two lanes.
Don’t have that problem when on 3 or 2 person teams.

An aggressive cover will still be an aggressive cover no matter how it is drilled. Certainly drilling it in a weaker position will be of some help, but.....

You really need to get a lower hook rated ball. My bowling alley actually has reconditioned balls that are great for this kind of thing and they are pretty cheap. Perhaps your local alleys have something similar in their pro shops?

i gotta go with shatterthe way i understand it is heavy oil balls neeld oil med/heavy ride on the edage of oil but needs a little to slide light needs little to no oil to hook

i can play almost the same line with my shatter as i do with the taboo thanks to the strong drilling i got and somehow i get more hook on that ball =D but i think i am not sure but if you where to throw your ball with palm up i think u could still use a heavy oil ball and it would still hook and be ok? this may be wrong but its my understanding of it

Drillng an aggressive ball weakly is defeating the purpose of what the ball is intended for,you are better off getting a light oil ball for light-medium oil. You could also try adjusting the coverstock to 3000-4000 with polish and see if that helps.

I use an inexpensive ball the Ebonite Cyclone for dry conditions.

Mike, the Cyclone would definitely be the way to go for your style with a 60 X 4 X 30 layout. Polishing and raising the grit of the coverstock on the Undefeated would help but not completely solve your problem.

My next ball is going to be something very weak. WHY doesn't DV8 have anything real weak!?!? ugh. The Misfit just isn't weak enough. I'm thinking about a Hammer Nail unless/until DV8 comes out with something sooner/later.

Strom has a few, and Made in the USA? NOT China!! ( I know bill had problems with management), but the works had nothing to do with that! What about the natural, or.....one of several others they sell in that area....

I polished that Marauder, and it kicked like hell at the end of the lane!!!! I guess it saves up a lot of energy, then Bhammmmmm!! I don't want the ball to have that huge snap at the end, but a more controled gradual arc into the pocket, (((when lanes get dry while bowling)). Bill do you think pluging one and doing a weak placement could help on worn out paths to the pocket?

I throw a Nail, and I can tell you from experience it's not as weak as you may think.
The Nail is also "MADE IN THE USA"!!.
