Bill do you think pluging one and doing a weak placement could help on worn out paths to the pocket?
I'm not Bill, but I think Jay gave you the answer right off the bat. You need a weaker ball. When you were teaching young guys how to work on the high iron, did you tell them to use the right tool for each job, or did you let them grab any old tool and try to make it work?

Maybe not any old tool, but many times their is more then one way to skin a cat! some times the tool you would LIKE TO HAVE cost to much, and you have to settle for a makeshift tool! Bill also knows about that being an auto mechanic! The best tool, is not always available, so you try to use another that will work as well, and get the job done. I am looking for the least expensive way! If,,, I can! I am not rich like you James.... LOL.... I have to improvise!!

I agree with the 200x, after seeing what happens to my marauder when the lanes dry up, having a weaker ball in the bag is vital!

When the nexxxus arrives i will be looking though the used ball rack at the pro shop to find a nice gem for this.

Mike, it could help to change the layout and change the surface to a higher grit. Going up in grits one size at a time helps to smooth out the hook, or so I've been told. Basically you need a ball designed for that condition but are trying to modify what you have until it's financially feasible. I get it just don't overlook a used low oil ball for about the same price.

good point Bill, and I agree with your thoughts/ideas! I might just for the fun of it try one of my Undefeated balls first! Would be a interesting experiment! Like many experiments, it may fail, but it won't be the first time one of my ideas didn't work!! lol,,,,, but then I have had some that turned out better then I ever expected!! thanks for the help Bill! Hope that wrist get better soon,,,, ((( READ ABOUT DMSO))) I have two bottles of it at my house,,, great for healing, and pain, no side effects! I have many friends using it now!

I'm thinking it's your skill: release or speed problem.

Dicks sporting goods has their Ebonite Nitro on sell for 29.95!!!! In all weights, including drilling! I don't want them to drill it, but even then it would only be another 30, plus 10 for the vise thumb insert, plus insurts for the finger holes 10, total 80 bucks I am going to run up there and get one today!!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but you think that Mike having problems getting a high performance, heavy oil ball to hit the pocket on dry lanes is a skill problem?

    I think

In a nutshell that’s 90 percent of the bowlers problems in the world!! Lol

Lets face it, when I bowl a 298, or 290, 289,,, or a few weeks ago two 270 games in a role (277,274) that has nothing to do with the lack of skill! Remember I am a broken down old Ironworker, getting older by the minute! I am sure there is a way of throwing a high performance ball that makes it hook less! I have tried the move left and it works to a certain degree,,, but when I wind up on 30 board that’s out of my control range. When I bowl on 3 man, or even most 4 person teams I don’t have the problem! But on 5 person teams, good teams with lots of high rev bowlers they eat the oil up within the first game! That would be the only time I need this special ball that is not so reactive to dry lanes!

Do I get the NITRO, or just go to the house of pancakes and have a platter of blueberry pancakes!! If I did do that would it be like: (having your pancakes, and bowling with it too!) lol oooo I crack myself UP sometimes!!! Later Dude’s, and ladies, I have a dozen trees, I need to cut up and split!!
