Looking to replace an old ball.

I have a Columbia 300 TEC Chaos. I love the ball, but it's pretty much tracked out at this point. Can anybody give me a suggestion to replace it with something similar?

I tried looking up TEC Chaos and didn't find anything. The Columbia 300 Chaos' that I did find all appear to be particle balls. The only companies that I found that still make particle cover stocks are Lane 1, RotoGrip, Storm, and Lord Field.

You might be better off telling us how your old ball used to react, what lane condition you would normally be playing on, and maybe a little bit about your style ( speed, rotation, rev rate, etc.)

It's breaks hard on the back end. I'm not really sure what the lane conditions normally are in the league I'm in, seems medium if I could guess. As far as my style, I have no idea about speed, rotation, or rev rate.

I probably need to have somebody who can drill me a new ball take a look at my style and figure out what would work best. I haven't seriously bowled in years, and I recently joined a league with some guys from work. The house has a proshop, but they look kinda shady. I live about 30 minutes north of Orlando, FL. Any suggestions?

In its day the Chaos was a very strong heavy oil ball. By todays standards it would fall more into the nedium-heavy catagory. Balls I would look at without seeing you throw would be the DV8 Marauder Madness, Columbia Mass Eruption, Motiv Primal Scream, Storm Crossroad, Roto-Grip Beserk.All of these balla take to surface adjustments well so there hook potential and ball motion can easily be adjusted

I believe it is a black ball with red engraving. Release date 2/99-TEC coverstock,Matte finish,Particle Solid,Symmetrical core,Low RG,High Differential. This was condidered a heavy oil ball. I would suggest Roto Grip Defiant(asymmetrical),Beserk(Symmetrical),!Q(Symme trical?),Freight Train(Symmetrical) as good heavy oil balls.

Back when they came out, they were meant to give you a more urethane type roll than the reactive resin did.

While everyone liked the strength of the reactive balls, they wanted the... I guess you can say the predictability (meaning more control) of a urethane ball too.

So out came particle balls, which gave you more control do to the surface texture, but which had the strength of the resin balls.

I had a Chaos back then, they are real sponges. If you can have the ball de-Oiled and if possible resurfaced on a Haus machine , you might could squeeze some life back out of it.
