Thread: HELP with need the ball to hook less

My plastic ball would still hook before hitting the 10, right handed. I went with a urethane, thinking that would fix it, but I still got the same reaction. I have to keep my wrist straight = flat in order to get the lone 10. There is a guy on my league team, 210 average, he can pick up his ten with any ball I give him(not 100%) but who does that. It seems more about wrist position then what ball you use. Some balls make it easier though.

Plastic has the least hook "potential" followed by urethane. I currently throw straight at any single pin spare and use whatever ball I happen to be using for my first ball. Spread the pinky and pulling the index finger in helps but breaking the wrist back or keeping it flat helps the most.

I thought it was the middle finger that you take out, and throw the ball using only thumb and ring finger.

My guess is that either finger works by reducing the amount of revs and axis rotation.
