Default Has anyone seen their average go down bcause of age or.........

physical issues? I have. It seems like not long ago I had an average of 188 and could sometimes bowl all three games over 200. Now that I will be 66 in
two months and have osteoarthritis in both hips and knees all three things must be taking their toll. My games can be scattered from a 147 to 178. It use to be common for me to bowl games in the 180s and 190s on a regular basis. Games of 200 to 238 were common plus a few series over 600 during the year. I think my hips and and knees keep me from getting a solid foundation at the end of my slide step and release. I don't think that I am just going through a phase that I will come out of. Maybe this is my new reality. Anyone else experience a new reality like this? No matter what I am not giving up the game. I just have to accept this new phase. Who knows maybe I can crawl out from under this rut.

Heh, I'm 41 and I have noticed that I'm no where near as flexible and injury-resistant as I used to be. Michael's right, diet is extremely important, as is exercise. Keep those joints limber and flexible, and look into Glucosamine supplements to help with the osteo. My parents, who are about your age, swear by that stuff - it really helps.

My wife and I eat a healthy diet for the most part like fruits and vegetables and we don't drink soda. I am 5'6" tall and weigh 152 lbs. I don't smoke and just drink socially which means not often. I work as a currier for a company called Wilton Brands and deliver boxes that can be light or heavy like 50 lbs. We watch portion sizes also. I still try to do some exercising like doing chinups in my house or core exercises like bridges. So maybe I just need to get out more and practice because now that I am older I have to work harder with practices to be sharper.

Hammer a lot of the food we Have to consume today is JUNK,,,, PURE JUNK! Even the meat, chicken, and pork are toxic!! It all starts with them damn feeder lots where they pump them up with all kinds of toxic things in order to fatten them up for more profit! Most of our vegetables are GM products with poisons incorporated into the seeds to kill bugs when they eat the product!! Many fruits have very dangerous levels of poison, on and sometimes in the fruit!! I now pay more, for ORGANIC everything, stay away from all forms of sugar, (use STEVIA), and drink pure clean water! It has made a HUGE DIFFERENCE in my quality of life!! Go to this web site and get the free news letter from this DR. Marcolla.com! EVERYONE should check out this Web site in regards to having great health!! NO COST FREE!

If you don't mind some mild language, Louis C.K. can explain what you're experiencing.

(all joking aside: My average hasn't changed much, but I DO notice pain a lot more as I edge closer to 30. I know you don't want to hear it, most will say, "Oh you're still young, blah, blah, blah..." and I don't blame anyone for that, BUT... The fact remains I do feel pain more from activities that never used to phase me at all. I honestly had to go to the doctor once because my wrist really hurt, and his response was (and I'm not joking at all), "Well, I'm afraid you're not 21 anymore. These things happen." Oh no...)

He must have gone to a different med school than my old doctor. When I was in my late thirties, he started telling me "you're not 18 anymore."
