Welcome to the boards, the balls aren't all THAT old, but given the loose core id say replacing it was a good choice lol. Great choice in the misfit, what color layout did you get?

I chose the Orange and Blue.

Pro-shop didn't tell me how he planned to drill it but the idea was to copy the ball movement I got from the aulby. more of an arc/snap vs a skid/snap

I feel like the misfits are becoming the majority and therefore no longer misfits at all.

    Think about it...
Not helping the situation since 1983.

Going to try to convince the pro-shop/alley to do a ball league like I read about here on the forums.

the shop makes a deal with a company say DV8 as an example. pay $16 a week for 12 week league and at the end you get a drilled misfit. pay 18 and get a reckless or Marauder 20 a week for a Nightmare or hell raiser.

could really do it with any ball company.

Sounds like that ball was certainly in need of replacing. I hope that your old skills come back quickly! Keep us updated, and provide any tips you have for newbies like me! Welcome to the boards.

    Getting there.

Between not bowling for quite a while and breaking my thumb on my bowling hand(thought it was dislocated learned the next year I actually broke it 50% cartilage loss in the knuckle - softball go figure) it's taking some time.

on three leagues averaging 175-185 used to be 195-200

For me personally I try to read every site I can and learn as much of the science of the sport as possible. Core dynamics effect of RG and Differential on ball reaction and how drilling can change that.

I just really really wish all companies were required to use a common measuring system for coverstock and core reactions
