So,if its too loose would that also take away for proper release?
-
What you are really asking is, " Will an incorrect fit play any role in my rev rate"? First there is only one best span for you, with maybe very slight alterations in pitch, and you should always stick with that.
You don run faster with a different size shoe, unless of course you have been running with the wrong size for years and getting blisters on your feet.
You want to get the right fit, don't split the difference, there is only one perfect span for you, just one. Then you rely on timing and clearing the ball for revs. There are obviously a few more things, but you get my drift.
-
If it doesn't fit, you have no idea how bad you may be struggling to get a good release with revs when you won't be able to. Span, hole size, pitch, all come into play. Get the fit right.

The guy who runs the place is a grumpy old guy and he assured me that it was perfect. I am beginning to question his judgement now.
-
In that case the best answer can only be to get a second opinion.
Do you have another pro-shop that you can visit and have them measure to see how they would drill your ball?
-
The shop I went to has two location in my city. One in the alley and another separate shop. The guy who helped me to start works at their actual store. There is another driller who works at the shop in the alley. I was planning to have her watch me throw both balls and see if she could help.
There is another shop about 20 miles away if worse comes to worse too.

If the guy is anything like some people I have been around be careful how you ask the other person their opinion.
There is always a chance that what you say could in some form get back to him(paraphrased or not) and some people don't take well to their opinions being questioned.
Just my opinion
-
That is a good point. I wasn't going to say anything about questioning the other driller. I was just going to ask the driller at the shop in the alley (the one who did not drill my frantic in the first place) to watch me throw both and ask what was going on.

So I took my Frantic in and talked to the other driller at my shop, not the one who originally drilled it. I brought my spec sheet from e original guy and she checked out how my hand fit in the Frantic and said the distance between my ring finger and thumb was too short. She also said the ring finger puts most of the lift on the ball and creates revs which would explain why I wasn't getting the release like I do with my old Messenger. She is going to redrill it for me.
PLUS, I ended up pulling the trigger on a new DV8 Hell Raiser Terror. The new measurements produced a much better release on the new HRT. Here is the thread I started withy he new ball info too. It is awesome!
