Default Do people make fun of your bowling shoe protectors?

At one time I used to get some kidding about my bowling shoe protectors. Some folks would ask if I am a doctor like Ben Casey. Or sometimes they would say why do you wear those? I personally don't think that it is a good idea to go walking around the alley's carpeted area when people are coming in from the rain or snow with nothing on your bowling shoes to protect them from getting the soles wet. Soles do not function well when wet. That is unless you like to go flying down the alley with your ball. The only good part of that would be that you will have a good chance to pick up that 7 or 10 pin leave. So folks that ask why I wear the protectors I tell them that when you make your approach and you go into your slide and you stick and blow out your knee or go flying down the alley head first then you will know why I wear them. WARNING: BOWLING SHOE SOLES DO NOT WORK WELL WHEN WET. KEEP DRY WITH BOWLING SHOE PROTECTORS.

Never. Most people I know are seasoned bowlers and use their's more than I use mine. I know, bad habit to not use them often.

The one that came with my SST6's is shiny silver. I know people look at it, no one has ever said anything though. Probably doesn't help there is only one too.

I have done that a few times myself. Usually someone catches me doing it and yells at me to take off my doctor shoes.

Do you guys wear your protectors between shots? I only use mine to go to the can or the bar.

Never seen anyone get made fun of for them. I mean, you don't want to get anything on your bowling shoes so you don't slip and fall. Makes a lot of sense. I personally don't wear any, but my regular shoes are always right there in case I need to walk anywhere.

I need to buy some... Our team likes to drink a beer or two while we bowl. I've never had a pair of protectors. But I've always had more of a plant than a slide, so it doesn't bother me as much, I suppose.
