I've got one in my bag but don't use it. At least I haven't had to use it yet. If the approach has left over birthday cake on it, you'll need one.
I was recently at the lanes and saw a bowler using a brass shoe brush on his sliding shoe. I'm still new to the world of bowling and this was the first time I've seen anyone use one while at the lanes. Out of curiosity, I was wondering how many members here use a shoe brush? Thanks in advance for all of your help!

I used to have a brush and then the bristles got al bent and gnarly from being in the side pocket of my bag so I got rid of it.
I use the pocket knife that I have in my bag for tape and just use the side of the blade to scrape the slie sole if/when I need it.
I usuall take a towle and wipe my shoe or borrow a brush. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE PUT POWDER ON YOUR SHOE! Had a new bowler over the summer do this and he almost get his *** kicked because he tracked powder on the lanes and someone slipped and hit their head on the lane and had to be restrained when he found out that the new guy put powder on his shoe.

Thanks to everyone for their responses to my original post. I'm going to pick up a brush the next time I'm at the pro shop; my sliding shoe does not seem like it wants to slide as freely. I will also never use powder for the bottom of my shoes; I would definitely not want to get someone else injured enjoying this amazing sport/hobby/activity/addiction.

i use a shoe brush all the time, im kind of addicted to it haha. i dont just use it when i cant slide enough, i also use to it stop a bit of slide....i brush upwards on the pad, like brush towards my toes and it helps cut down on some slide.
One of my good buddies loves having one around. I don't really have a slide, so it doesn't matter to me, but he swears it can make all the difference in the world if his shoes get gunked up.
Not helping the situation since 1983.

I have one. You brush toe to heel to increae slide and heel to toe to decrease slide. Side to side to just remove debris.
