I do it by hand. Too cheap to pay extra for data and a smartphone. I even track where in the pocket the ball hit, what I hit, what I actually aimed at, speed and anything I can think of. I fund I was making my adjustments sooner this way and it's helped me. Am I anal? I don't know but I can tell you what ball, speed, rotation, approximate rev rate, line played for the third frame of my second game six months ago and where it actually hit plus the score.

I used to have a piece of software where I would track my games on paper, and put them into the computer later. It kept track of my spare and strike percentage. I could see which lanes I bowled best on, and which balls scored well for me. It was lost when my old computer went belly up, and it's no longer available. It was a great tool to have.

I also use the best bowling app...it's much more simple than Bowl Sheet app because it gives me the option to either put in scores by either pins, frames, or just end score for when I don't have a lot of time. I bowl mostly during my lunch hour. If the main operator is there, he'll usually print out my games that show my pins hit and misses so that I can enter that info later. Best Bowling app to me was the best because it really breaks down every detail if you have time to put in all the info. Bowl Sheet 2 was too complicated to navigate, but it might be better for a league team.

I'm using PinPal on my iPhone and it's great. I've also got BestBowling but PinPal is easier to use at the lanes.
