After my daughter bowled league we bowled a adult-youth 9pin no tap tourney.

first two games I have never seen so many big splits.

every shot was either a big split or a strike no spares at all

200-195

Third game I got smart and moved as soon as the ball changed motion instead of waiting for something to fail.

No tap 300

I know it's no tap but it's my first 300 of any kind so I'll take it

Tuesday 5 man again.

Again the first game my line went from 28 over 13 in warmups to that line not checking up and getting back to the pocket once the game started.

Had to move all the way over to 25-10 to get the ball back to the pocket.

So close yet so far....

Struggled with carry tonight. the good news is I found a way to pick up the 10 using the new Misfit. will have to see how that goes in the future... really should just break down and get a plastic for spares.

gettting frustrated with having a bad game every series.

Thursday late league.

Again striking in practice only to have it completely fall apart come game time.

204 average in this league.

the 189 was clean just could not find a line to carry.

Finally in the third and fourth games I got far enough right.

After the league I found out the house has been working on the lane condition because people had been complaining about the lanes being dry (was just clean backends on the shortest house pattern in town) so they reduced the amount of cleaner they have been using on the backends......

Leaving me stuck with heavier carrydown which I assume has been causing my issues the last few weeks. Chalk one up to a learning experience.

Another rough night with oil conditions. I am just not used to the oil carying down vs drying out.

Second game I kept going back and forth between my ball jumping and going through the nose or breaking late and causing washouts.

The last game one of my teammates with more experience recommnded I play an outside shallow shot(laydown 12 break at 6 board) instead of continue trying to adjust my more normal line(laydown 17 break 5)

obviously it worked

Got the the lanes early and saw they didn't get the lanes oiled till 10-15 before the warmups started.

because of that I started where I had finished up the night before.

second game I tried to force the line for too long before changing my focal point.

last game killed the pocket every ball. left a 7 and 3 10 pins.

Really need to look at getting plastic for spares.

don't know if I have lost something in the way I throw, have sped up, or if the ball has now broken in(at least 75 games since Christmas)
but I am now laying down at around 12 crossing the arrows at 9-10 and breakpoint at 6-7 board

When the ball was fresh I was laying down at 18-20 crossing 13-15 at the arrows and breaking at 5-7 board.


Oh well the scores have been good with the new shallower line

Could it have anything to do with the fact it has gotten cold so they have to heat the alley more?
