Default review of my new DV8 arsenal

well I have about 2 league weeks on my new Misfit and Zombie spare ball and many practice games. I have yet to bowl under 160 (I believe my lowest was 164 err so) and that is out of probably 30+ games. my league average was 169 and is now back up to my average of 172 that I had last year. In practice i have had multiple 200+ games including 1 240+ game and a couple 230+ games. On sunday during practice I actually bowled a 230 with my zombie spare ball only! I can feel my first sanctioned 600 series coming and I am really hoping it is tonight.

Now the Misfit is a STRONG dry lane ball. I didn't expect this much hook out of it. I may need to look into a ball that hooks less than my Misfit next season. I think I am just putting too many revs on the ball and I really don't know how to control them? when the lanes start to dry out I have a really hard time picking up 10 pins with my spare ball. Does anybody have any tips on reducing revs? I don't want to just throw a straight ball on my spares, I like to keep the same style throughout a whole game otherwise I get really inaccurate.

Overall, these 2 balls were definitely a great purchas for my bowling game!

    Thanks,
    Jake

There's many different releases to reduce/increase "revs" on a bowling ball. A broken suitcase release is probably the lowest "rev" release that you can use. A more end over end release will also work for the ball not hooking away from the 10 pin.

Cuda what kind of line do you play for 10 pins?

I play far left and throw over the center arrow on a direct line to the 10. I use a Columbia Scout with very little revs and it works great. The Scout has become my spare ball for picking up 6, 9 or 10 pin spares. Everything else I just move right with my Madness.

I start far left as well across the middle and usually ride the gutter directly into the 10 pin. It works great until the last bit of the last game when the lanes are just about bone dry. That ball will cut all the way over to where the 6 pin would be and usually completely misses the 10. Luckily I dont leave many 10 pins but I just happened to get a few when I was practicing sunday and no matter how hard a chucked that ball over there it would still grab and take off before it got to the 10

also I am doing this with a brand new zombie spare ball that is still got it's high gloss polish on it lol

Wow those lanes must be super dry!

You could try and throw a backup ball.

no one else on my team seems to have a problem, I just am putting too many revs on it. It's always been that way. Before I ever bowled in a leage, I used to pick them up left handed LOL. The 5 person teams arent helping

It's not the revs, it's the rotation. Spread your pinky and pull your index finger next to the middle finger. This feels very weird at first but works well.

I do something very similar to that.

I put all 4 fingers together, straighten my wrist instead of cupping, and focus on lifting through the ball from 7 to 1(clockface) that for me gives me rotation in line with the lane so I get very little hook

this is with my strike ball rather than a plastic though.

7 to 1? Wouldn't that basically be super cranking?

I start on the 35 board and shoot for the middle arrow. I spread my pinky out as far as possible and keep my index finger against my middle finger. My ball moves perfectly straight with no hook. If I do it on heavy oil, I'll get my spare ball back with one single line of oil.

7 to 1 through the clockface rather than around the clockface. Coming up the back of the ball

Sorry should have said that better
