Default Anybody have a Hammer Nail Smoke and Fire?

I just got back into bowling a couple months ago after about 10yrs off. I picked up a Storm Frantic to start and just picked up a DV8 Hell Raiser Terror after joining here and being heavily influenced by my fellow Deviants.

I was considering purchasing a spare ball, but I have become fairly adept at picking up 10 pins with my Frantic, so I was thinking about buying a ball for dryer lane condtions instead of just a spare ball. I was looking on bowlingball.com at balls and the Misfit definitely was one I looked at too, but I kept going back to this, Hammer Nail Smoke and Fire

Anybody have one of these? I have never thrown a Hammer ball other than the demo Ratchet at my shop a few times while they were drilling my DV8 HRT

It looks like it would be good when the lanes burn up a bit and for spares. Plus it has what looks like one of the coolest color schemes I have seen.
    Cheers - Ryan

In my experiance dry-medium oil balls don't work for dry lanes. I have a 300C and it hooks too much on the dry, even bought a Roto Grip Shout and that was to much. I found that a ball like the Slingshot or a urethane ball work much better on the dry.

I have a urethane Hammer Blue Hammer ball that I got for our dry lanes and it works well for me with a controlled hook. It is good for spare shooting also. It has five possible layouts and a surface of Abralon 800, 1000, 2000, 4000. So you will have to tell the pro shop what you want the ball to do and then they will give you a layout for the type of oil you bowl on. I get a good pocket hit with a speed of 13.5 to 14.5mph with the layout I have.

I think a urethane ball sounds like a great option for a dry lane/spare ball. I can pick up 10 pins ok with my old Columbia messenger, but would be nice to have something that would react less and more smoothly.....if that makes sense
