Thread: Bowling While Sick As A Dog?

Default Bowling While Sick As A Dog?

Ok guys, I am supposed to bowl in a tourney tomorrow. However, I think I've caught a bit of the flu bug. I felt like garbage last night, and this morning. After heavily medicating myself, I feel a little better. My temperature is down, and I stopped throwing up. Maybe it's because I haven't eaten anything. If I can hold some food down, and don't feel super weak, I am thinking about still going. I will have to lower my expectations, but I still want to do it. Any of you ever bowl when you were sick? Right now I'm leaning about 80% on not going, but I'm thinking about it. It's not a big tourney, just a local handicapped tourney. I just want to take part in it.

If you think you are still contagious, I would not go as a courtesy to others. Otherwise, if you are feeling strong enough might as well go check it out. I bowled in my league last week and I was still getting over my cold I have had for about a month now. Probably not as sick as you are, but still wasn't 100%.

Tough call, on one hand its bowling, on the other you don't want to get worse by pushing yourself. i'd say go if you feel up to it and your not coughing/sneezing to much. if you do go however, don't lower your expectations, always aim for perfection, you are what you think, if you think your going to bowl below average, then you will.

In one way, I want you to get off the couch and bowl. On the other hand, I don't want you coming down and getting me sick! Yes, Sinister and I are going to be bowling in the same tournament. In fact we were planning on bowling on the same lanes. maybe not now, keep you germs away! Seriously, feel better, and maybe I'll see you tomorrow.

Don't go! You may still be contagious not to mention your body will be fatigued trying to fight the infection. Also you may become over heated as your temp will go up due to physical excertion and your body trying to fight the infection.

Unless I have a miraculous recovery, I don't think I'm going. I'll have to wait until another day to whip Rocco.

I think not going is the right choice. Why be miserable? Give your body time to heal.

Often times Ive found rushing myself can set back my progress towards recovery. Plus, i cant drink when im sick, and theres no way i would bowl well without my talent juice!!!

I have bowled sick as a dog. I'm talking running to the can after my shot kind of sick, barf can by my side at the table, sick. I bowled well too. It helped the mental game to not even care about how I bowled. I also go to work that way. I can be home and miserable or be out doing what needs to be done and miserable. I'm also the moron that bowled blind so what the hell do I know.

If you do feel like you can go, stay away from others and no high fives! When I had a virus about a month or so ago, I just stayed away from people and told them I won't be issuing or receiving high fives because I don't want to spread it.
