Default New Misfit in the house!

    Hello,

I have been following the forums for some time now. Lots of great information!

After rejoining a league a few years ago, my average was beginning to improve (up around 140). I had been throwing an ancient Ebonite Gyro Urethane ball and wanted something with more hook. I investigated on the forum and found my way to a DV8 Misfit, which my wife got for me for Christmas.

I have bowled about 15 games so far, some being the best games that I bowled ever! 214 was the highest, several 170's and a 185. roled a few practice games today, two 169's ...

Anyways, thanks for the great info, I'll try to post my progress as I improve...

    Bob

I just got a misfit for Christmas myself Which color did you get?

Great ball so far will take some getting used to though. Considerably more hook than my older equipment

    Hello Perrin,

Mine is the stock Neon Green/White ... Looks great rolling down the lanes.

What's the best solution to use for cleaning the ball? Is the traditional alcohol or Dawn dishsoap soak effective on reactive cover stocks?

    Thanks,

    Bob

Here is a link to ball maintenance.

I use a mix of 3 equal parts of Simple Green, Isopropyl Alcohol 91% and water for after every session. I think it works out to over 36oz for like $6-8. Then I do a warm water/dawn dish soap scrub once a month.

Nice. I had thought about getting that one (I called it the slimer ball in memory of Ghostbusters ) But I ended with getting the Orange and Blue one like my avatar.

That Ball maintenance thread will lead you in the right direction. I got some ball cleaner that the pro shop told me to use about once a week or so.

my last ball I didn't maintain well and lost alot of ball reaction because of it. Plan to take better care of this ball.
