Default Can your layout and core in your bowling ball influence your release?

Depending on the core in your ball and where the pin is in your layout can this effect how easy or hard it is to turn your hand at your release? It seems like the core positioning in your layout could make it easier or harder to turn your hand in the release. To me an asymetric core would have more of a influence in a release. What do you folks think?

In and of itselft, no the core and/or layout will have zero effect on how easy it is for you to turn your hand. The weight differential isn't enough for your hand to notice.
Knowing what the core and layout are suppose to do can mentally influence your release.

It's funny you asked that question, because two days ago, my subscription showed top in the mail and theres a piece in there by Rob Mautner on exactly that information. If you can't get a copy of Bowling this Month, let me know and I'll send you the article.

If that is the article in the BTM January issue then I have it. My daughters got me a year subscription of Bowling this Month magazine for Christmas.

As far as the core influencing your release Rob Mautner wrote in BTM that many high level bowlers, including some PBA pros are beginning to shy away from balls with asymmetrical cores. They cite the way the balls go through the pins and their tendency to magnify small inconsistencies in a bowlers release.

The layout and the core of the ball cannot effect how you release it. The specs can, shorter span and finger pitches, etc. But as far as the core and layout goes it can affect how the ball flares and rotates AFTER the release, but it will not affect what you impart to the ball.
