    Default Arson Hybrid

My loving fiance bought me the Hammer Arson Hybrid for christmas. The guy who is going to be drilling my ball has been out for medical reasons and will be back sunday which is the first night back at league since the holidays. I plan on getting the ball drilled sunday but wandering what layout I should go with. I do not know my PAP so looking at the drilling instruction sheet I know I have a high track. Everything I have is pretty much for length and I pretty much throw up the ten board. I was thinking of getting the standard layout which is for heavy oil and aggressive back end. Then again I though of going with drilling #3 layout strong layout for strong and controllable hook. I have a speed of 12.5-12.75 average and I would say low rev rate so I am asking with each of the layouts what could I expect out of it as far as hooking and how strong it would be in all of yours opinion. Both layouts calls for pin at or below ring finger and i have never thrown one like that everything is above it. One guy who watches me bowl says that I would do way better pin down something bout getting more roll or earlier roll... anyways though id ask yalls opinion

Pin down generally creates an earlier roll. Dual angle layouts are easier for me to match to bowlers. For yours I would suggest 50° X 3 3/4 X 30°. That's a 50° drill angle, pin to PAP distance of 3 3/4", 30° VAL. This is an easy to rev, strong midlane read with a controllable hook. It will allow you to move some in either direction depending on the oil and the entry angle you want. It's one of my favorite layouts for low rev players as it generates more area for them to enjoy and more angle than the outdated traditional drillings.
You have some good balls already. Were any of them drilled with your PAP?

No until recently and recently being me joining bowling boards I knew nothing about it. I havent had a new ball drilled for me since then well the marauder but I took it to another guy to give a try... The pro shop guy told me he could figure it out for me when I was ready but not having anything that needed to be drilled I havent worried about it. I am going to ask him what time I can come in saturday and try to figure it out that way I can maybe get this one drilled to my pap. So far I cant complain bout the balls in my aresenal at all. So if all goes well with me having to work this weekend I am going to see if he can figure it out. I think if im not bad of mistaken he said he could go by the oil ring but I cant remember if thats exactly what he said or if I misunderstood.

The "oil ring" is your track, the track is used to find your PAP.

I have an Arson Hybrid drilled up that I have been throwing and I have a video coming out on it soon. This ball is pretty smooth. I went with a 50° x 5" x 45° layout. At first I had a lot of finger weight I had to drill out and put the X hole high up above my PAP, and that didn't roll very well so I plugged it, drilled the fingers down deeper and moved the X hole close to the PAP. Now it rolls fine. Just like you would expect for a hybrid. Reacts in the mid lane and still has a bit of angle on the back end to get the good carry. This thing hits like a truck too, smashes the pocket!
