Ended up with a 632 on my first league night of the new year. I shot a 577 in a no-tap tournament on New Year's Day on a challenge shot. The positive I brought out of it was a natural 243 on a challenge shot.

Yep you will need to learn how and when to anticipate the shot breaking down
and start to make your moves before you get into trouble with big splits which
sounds like what you were doing making the right moves at the right time.
A 632 series is nothing to call a semi-fiasco as it is a pretty good start for the
new year now just keep that up for the rest of the year.
