Default First Games With My New Hellraiser

I tried out my new Hellraiser today. My new pro shop measured my PAP yesterday. (3 7/8 over and 1 inch up...I think lol) it was the coolest thing seeing that piece of tape staring back at me. It was the same result every time I threw it so I was consistent with my release

He drilled it using that and my Marauder to rake the other measurements off of...felt great in my hand.

I rolled three games using it as my strike ball. I hate to say that it didn't work that great for me. I'm sure a little more practice will help. I was under my average and although I bought it hoping for a stronger reaction it was only marginally stronger than my Marauder.

I was also concentrating on my release and approach and think I might have been doing to much at once.

It was drilled with the pin below my ring finger and needed a small balance hole to meet the rules. Yesterday when the pro was watching me I had a Turkey a spare and a double so I was feeling good then.

I was thinking I might be able to use it for more of a coast to coast or cross lane ball but I don't think I have enough hook to do it....we will see.I may be strictly a down and in guy.I might warm up with it in league but don't know if I will use it.

If I had to guess I would say on average it was about 3 or 4 boards stronger than the Marauder(for me) or maybe a little more if I really whipped it.

Sure looked cool going down the lane.

Give it a few weeks. Your average will go back up.

Once you start coming out of the ball better it will hook more. The way you were throwing in your video, coast to coast hook is a ways away..sorry

I'm going to be in Indianapolis at Woodland bowl July 13th if you and your brother want some free lessons. That's a Saturday and the last day of the Silver conference.

    Or we could just bowl

That's an awesome offer and I'd love to take you up on it but I got one problem. I work 48 weekends a year.

That's not a typo....they pay me quite a bit extra to do it. The only reason I don't have to do it 50 a year us because I've been doing it for 15 years.

I was at woodland today. If you are getting in any earlier let me know..otherwise...enjoy our fair city and thanks!!

The Hellraiser worked pretty good in league last night..... Won the first 2 but tanked in the third.... Had my 5th ever game over 200 and started of with four strikes in a row....maybe it won't take as long as I thought...didn't bowl down and in either but very the third arrow towards the gutter. It came back good and other than a bunch of splits in the first game it worked awesome.

Used the Marauder as something of a spare ball and picked up two out of three ten pins and a an awesome 2-4-9 spare... Got the nine off a back wall richochet!

With the pin drilled beneath your finger the ball is going to roll a lot
earlier than if it were above your finger(s).

The pin down drilling is for more of a smoother earlier controable type
of hook and not a big snap on the back ends my Hellraiser has the pin
above my fingers and boy does it ever snap on the back ends.

Here is the way I have mine drilled I had to add a P3 hole to get it back
on the leagle side again. LOL!!!

Here is a couple of pics of the $50.00 Roto Grip Defiant Edge ball that I bought
and redrilled I placed the pin above the ring finger on it also and it is a pretty
wild reacting ball decided to add a P4 hole to it and see what that does for it on
    league tonight.

We could always do it that Thursday and/or Friday evening after the seminar. The day usually ends around 5 pm
