Thread: Storm Crossroad

    Default Storm Crossroad

Hi! My father can give me his Crossroad (with which he has never been able to play...). I already have the Nexus Pearl that I like to play with on medium to dry lanes.

    Two questions :

1- Are the Crossroad and Nexus too near to the same kind of ball reaction?

2- Anyone here ever sanded a Crossroad? I need a sanded ball for fresh oil. Would it be a great idea? I have amost never change a surface so drastically on a ball.

    Thanks a lot!

The neXus is a heavy oil ball and the Crossroads is a medium oil ball. The neXus is a more aggressive then the Crossroads! What is the pattern or oil length your bowling on? You can sand it,but, polished balls are good when fresh oil breaks down and you need a ball to go a little longer.

I am playing on a THS 40' long. I don't have a lot of revs, so when I play on fresh oil, it's a lot harder for me to hit correclty the pocket with a polished ball.

The beauty of the Crossroad is in it's predictability and the ability to alter the cover - it is fairly versatile. That being said, the Nexus is a more aggressive ball thatn theCrossroad and, IMO is best used on Medium oil or later in a league night after the heads have been torn up. I do this with some level of effectiveness...

I would sand the Crossroads to 1000 or 1500 and see how that works.

Leave the Crossroad alone. Clean the Nexus and use the Crossroad for the third game.

I already play with the Nexus when it's dry. I play at 9 PM and the lanes are oiled at 6 PM. So there are 3 games x 4 players that play before my league begins. I was looking for a sanded ball to play on fresh oil in tournaments. I tought that sanding the Crossroad could be an option.

wowzers...the NeXus is actually a stronger ball than the Crossroad. You can sand and try it but I wouldn't. I just have some OCD concerning altering coverstocks.
