Thread: Question for those who have switched to two handed.

Default Question for those who have switched to two handed.

If you switched, did you start with a lighter ball? Or if you could start again would you? Just curious if I should start with 15 or with a 13 or 14. I think lighter would make timing easier.

I switched to full time two handed about 2-3 months ago. I played around with it for a long time, and I always had fun with it. Anyway, I decided to switch from one handed when I went through a slump, and it has helped me a whole lot. My tournament average has gone up from the 170s to the mid 180s. I even am averaging 174 on a sport shot, lol.

Lighter balls work better two handed, your speed should be 18mph+ so even with a 14 pound ball you will be obliterating the pins. So I recommend starting with a 14 pound ball.

I tried 2 handed a few weeks ago when I was restarting my game and wow did I nearly fall on my face.

The swing is completely different. If you think you can do it and that it will improve your game then go for it.

You should probably go with the same weight unless it begins to hurt

I have never seen anybody throw it quite like that. All the one handed no-thumb bowlers I know have to get down super low to do it.

Ya. I tend to lob it a tiny bit. I really do need to get down further. Thank you for pointing that out

You are the one with the bad shoulder right? I don't know if you would have the range of motion to throw a 2 handed shot and see any benefit...
