Default Need My Hellraiser To Go Longer...Surface Change?

I got a DV8 Hellraiser for christmas. I had it drilled with the pin below my ring finger. My Marauder is drilled for length. I have had some decent games with the Hellraiser but I find that it starts rolling quite a bit earlier than I'd like and as a consequence it appears to hook less then the Marauder does.

Do I have any options to make it go longer besides redrilling. I suppose I could move in a few boards and try throwing it harder but I would rather keep everything the same and adjust the ball if it is possible. My plan for the week is to try it on a bunch of different lines and see if I can come up with something I like a little better as far as the reaction.

OOB is is 500:1500 if you changed it to 2000 I think you would see a little extra length. I don't know too much on surface changes but I think a polish may add a little length also.

well the reason for your Hell raiser for rolling out early is because pin down balls roll out early i got a HRR and its pin down and it rolls out early and soo dose my c300 freeze witch is also pin down but the rest of my balls are all pin up and they go down the lane farther then roll out. but you don't have to get it redrill.

do what scottymoney said and put it to 2000 or 4000 grit or also make it have high polish on it rather then it low coat of polish because it has a rough buff finish witch is a low coat so get more polish put on it and see what it dose or change the grit and put polish back on it.

Since oob is a Rough Buff Finish couldnt you just add a high gloss polish to add length?

Im going to try the refinish if I cant get it to start reacting the way I want down lane..it just doesnt seem to finish well for me and has less entry angle than my Marauder.. I guess in hindsight I should have drilled it pin up. I like the way my Marauder reacts but thought a different set up would be neat to try.

pin down is great you are able to open the lane and play straight up depending on the oil but with a pin up ball you cna play straight up but opening the lane up is alot different you have to keep it in close to the pocket where pin down you can throw it wide and it wills till come back in.

Yep, adding polishing or sanding to a higher finish will allow the ball to go longer. Keep in mind, it will retain it's energy and produce a sharper back end.

well one thing i was doing today in league was i was playing around with my tilt when i have my pinky right in on my ring figner i could make my c300 freeze out hook all my other bowling balls but when i put my pinky finger out i could not make my freeze hook at all you should try playing around with the tilt and see what happens.
