    I believe I will be bowling only THS pattern.I will confirm that though to make sure.

    what type of hook do u want to be your go to

    pin up = long

    pin down = mid lane

    i dont have any coast to coast so i am not sure but this is just a basic

    most people starting get pin up and thats what id recommend for u

    ps never said anything about pap =D but i no what u mean

    you know noeymc I never thought of that question specifically as far as what type of hook I wanted until it was mentioned in this thread.In my mind when I think of a hook I think of the mid lane hook.I cant say that I prefer that though its just what I see in my minds eye so thats a tough question.Is one easier to start with that the other?

    The mid lane hook is easier to control. The sharper the ball is designed to break, the harder it is to control. Your speed and release have to be very consistent.

    i would say go for it i think again this is going to be different for everyone but i think down and in is easier for me but thats what i started with so i am going to say that but down and in will prob give u better scores id say go for it !

    Layout is irrelevant unless you are a 200+ avg bowler. It is especially irrelevant if you're just starting w/ fingertip. Key is a good fitting, and may have to get fitting readjusted as you learn. Much of the discussion here is just confusing the matter.

    btw, Sean Rash uses an unusual semi-fingertip, not conventional.
