Default Should pin be up or down with a 13.5 to 14.5mph ball speed???

I have a urethane Blue Hammer ball and the pin is above my ring finger. I was under the impression that my pin location would give me length on our THS oil pattern which is dry to medium oil. I have medium revs on my ball. When the lanes are on the dry side I can put my sliding foot arch on board 28 and have my breakpoint anywhere from board 5 to 10 to get to the pocket. If I had the pin below my ring or middle fingers about an inch would I get a more aggressive hook with my ball speed? With the pin above my ring finger I get a nice controllable hook. So what kind of ball reaction would I get on my ball with the pin below my ring or middle finger?

The rule of thumb is that pin up will make ball go further and hook later while pin down will cause ball to start to hook before it gets to midlane.

Pin down would cost the ball to early hook and roll in the pocket while pin up will cost the ball the go down longer before a skid snap reaction.
