Ya, I wasn't sure what you meant exactly either, because my arm bends just before release to create some extra torque. It's straight on my backswing, though.

If you already told him once, it's up to him now to correct it or not. You could always just bring it up again, letting him know that you are concerned about his safety or something.

I think it's pretty common for tweeners and crankers to have a slight bend in their elbow on their downswing, just before the release; for a stroker I would expect a completely straight arm until the follow-through. I could be wrong, of course. Not sure about having it bent on the backswing, though. I'm curious to see what you find out.

I was just analyzing my swing on the "coachmyvideo" app and you can only see my arm bend for 1 or 2 frames of film, just before the ball is released.

A slight, natural bend is no big deal. If you are really bending your arm, I'd imagine you are probably muscling the ball which is not a good thing.

I'm assuming the question is about whether you should offer unsolicited advice to someone (Not a discussion about bent elbows). Who you see is having problem or you think is having a problem with their form.

If it was someone I didn't know, I wouldn't unless they asked. Because You don't know how they would welcome your opinion of their bowling. Some would be thankful, others could take offense at it.

Now if it was someone you knew already and you know how they would accept it, that's another story.
