    Default Video of me bowling...

Not bad considering I've been out of bowling for 12 years; I just picked it back up a few weeks ago.

I've still got a lot of work to do to iron out the kinks. Hoping to be in league form by the summer season.

You've got good form. Like me, you look to be more of a stroker than a cranker. As I've been told, this will help us later on in life. I had a guy tell me last night that if I, "keep bowling like that, you'll be bowling well into your 90s."

Sometimes guys will try to pull the ball over their head on the backswing and they end up tensing their forearm and pushing the ball forward, rather than letting the pendulum action flow. This can cause elbow and shoulder issues. It can also cause you to lose control of your release.

Keep doing what you're doing. You're well on your way to getting back into league shape.
I hope to take some video of myself in practice soon. How did you set this shot up?

Thanks for the reply and the compliments. I've always considered myself more of a tweener than a stroker. I'm going to attempt to calculate my rev rate pretty soon; I put a decent amount on the ball. Hopefully I can keep it up into my 90's!

To capture the video, I just set my iPad up on a chair on the back of the approach. An iPhone works pretty well, too. If you have an iOS device, you should check out the "CoachMyVideo" app. I heard about it on this site the other day. It's free and it's pretty awesome. It lets you do frame by frame replay, which is what I will have to do to calculate rev rate. It also has zoom and telestrator functionality.

Great tips, man. I see why you are more like a tweener with your release, you clearly have a powerful back-end on the ball there to carry through the pins and clear the deck. I just heard about that app the other day talking a friend on Twitter and I now have it installed on my iPhone. I'll likely be setting it up on the approach when I practice because all the chairs at our local house are screwed in place; though we have barstools by the back table/bar, I think that may be too far up.

I'll definitely post it here in my ongoing thread.

Good video....your approach is very similar to mine and yes, bowling into your 90's is very much doable when you're not trying to crank the ball out of the building. Ask Mark Roth how his wrist and hands are doing now after so many years of abuse.

Coming back from a 12 year layoff may be tough for the first little bit, but bowling is like riding a bike and sex ! You never forget how to do it !!

Good luck, if you need any advice we're here to help. And oh, by the way, you may have already realized how much the equipment has changed during that 12 year layoff. Check out some of the new balls and try one you'll be amazed. Good luck.

Just picked up a Motiv 2Cruel last week. It's pretty amazing. That's actually what I'm throwing in that clip.

Another tweener. It looks pretty good. Your swing will probably straighten out even more as the rust comes off.
