You wont break your finger, and you probably won't need to alter your release. Looking at the slow mo of your video, as violent as your head, legs, and most of your delivery is, your hand on release isn't violent. The problems on your fingertip is may just be from the rubber on the grips, because your finger is coming off of it fast, or the weight of the ball causing stress on it when the ball is in one hand at the very end of the delivery. Either way, the SE grip could help. If you go ahead with it, the first few throws take it really easy to see what it feels like.
It won't cause more splits either. Also throwing your spares with that grip, one handed, shouldn't be a problem. When I bowl one handed now that's the only grip I use. With a straight fingertip, it feels like I'm going to drop the ball.
