It is of the utmost importance that you continue following the doctors orders of course. If you can sit in a chair and swing your arm you can continue to bowl just half to focus harder on being able to hit your mark. If your willing to give it a try you might find it to be challenging and sporting.

I know your anxious and probily crawling the walls wanting to bowl and go back to work. I can tell you from experiance not to rush into anything and let your knee completely heal and listen to the doctor. Your knee will heal soon enough to where you can maybe go back to work with some light lifting under doctors orders. Hang in their!

had two (one on each knee) last was last july and until this surgery i was un able to get low at my release. know they are telling me i need a 3rd op to split my muscles as the outside muscle is too strong pulling my knee cap out to the left
means no more bowling after my op again!

I had arthoscopic in '87 for a shreadded medial collateral and it took 3 months before starting rehab and another 9 month of rehab(Arthoscopic was new to the scene)before I could run. Medical technology has come along way in surgery and rehab since then and now I have heard 4-6 months or less depending on surgery and individual healing rate.

I wouldn't think it would be that long for a torn meniscus. I had mine done in April of 2003 and was bowling in June. A torn meniscus does not affect the structural integrity of the knee like the ACL or MCL does.
