Finally broke the 500 series mark !!!

I just started bowling in a league this year and it was the first time I have picked up a bowling ball in 30+ years. My girlfriend has bowled in a mixed league for years and talked me into joining her team and it has been a blast !! When I started out I was lucky to break 100 per game but with some practice and alot of watching you tube videos plus reading on forums like this one I finally broke the 500 series mark last night in league. I rolled a 169,179,171=519 series now it is on to my next goal of a 600 series !!!

Good job! I read somewhere that the average bowling average of all USBC members was 158. You're already scoring well above that. Keep up the good work.

Congrats man! I'm glad you enjoy the game as much as I do and wish you continued success.

I just broke 600 for the first time last season and got my first natural 600 (three 200 games) on the last week of league last season. My blog features all my best games and series along with current averages. I'm currently in three leagues and I practice on Sunday mornings. One last thing, it wouldn't be a bad idea to set your near-view goal for 550, which can be accomplished by picking up more spares. This way, you can focus on that part of your game and improve there as well as with your high score and high series.
